Joaquin Alfonso: "The fun is also a fundamental right"

day like today BORN IN 1966, BEGAN AS BRIGADE AND THREE YEARS LIVED IN NICARAGUA IN LATE 80'S

A MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE OF SOLIDARITY WITH NICARAGUA

THE PAST 25 FEBRUARY FILED WITH ITS PARTNERS THE DOCUMENTARY "THE GREAT WHORE WE WENT 'COLLECTING THE EXPERIENCE OF THE DIGNITY TOUR BY THE COMMUNITIES OF THIS COUNTRY

- How did this project?

- Born in 2009, when that celebrated the 30 anniversary of the Sandinista revolution. From the international solidarity committee wanted to make an album in tribute to all those who fought and gave their lives in that way. We then with the participation of Abraham Castellon, a songwriter Nicaraguan Malecon Magofermin Records and the collective. In July of that year we present the disk, and among all involved, we began to consider bringing the disc to the communities where we work from doing years in Nicaragua. When we gave shape to this project, we decided that it would finance with our own resources. Throughout 2010 we were doing gigs in Aragon and with the money we collect is paid for the instruments, which at the end of the tour were donated to the Youth House of Santa Rosa del Penon (Nicaragua), van, etc. The nine people who traveled the trip paid out of pocket.

- How does materialize in a documentary?

- For concerts took a camera with the idea of \u200b\u200brecording the shows. We wanted to do something around with all that material. We thought it would be a good way for people who had contributed something to this idea knew what he had been, but also, in Nicaragua, we wanted the people in the community have that memory. Already been sent copies, and it seems that even they will put in some television. We understand that solidarity is something round, during the tour lived with many people, from the Nicaraguan media supported the initiative. And we wanted to return everything received in some way.

- When you think about cooperation activities, the music seems to fit. How have they achieved?

- From the Committee understand solidarity as something people to people, rather than the use cooperation. More preferable to link social and political struggles. From the beginning maintain ties with Sandinista groups, denouncing the abuses they have suffered communities. Our activity in Nicaragua comes also through resources, but the main objective is to condemn inequality. We understand that people are also entitled to have fun, fun. These communities are more difficult to reach and every concert is just becoming a party. Is another fundamental right, access to culture and fun.

- What was the reaction in the community?

- From the beginning, the reaction is to work so that everything goes smoothly. Since the sectors linked to the Sandinistas gave us a lot of technical support. All equipment was living in the homes of the people, for example. They were also happy with the party, to see a battery. Many people in communities remember and send us email to know when we return.

- What is now the future of documentary?

- We've posted on the internet, on vimeo.com. We do not want commercial, the goal is to reach many people as possible. Now we want to continue presenting in Aragon. After the screening we did in Zaragoza, will continue to rotate through several villages. The musicians will also attend one of these places.

- Where does the title?

- is an expression of there. The quote is from Abraham, just before leaving on tour, while watching the map. Something like "finally did it."
