WASHINGTON . The U.S. military are planning to use advanced computer software to create false identities on social networking sites and thus influence the talks, "online", focusing especially on the Muslim world.
The U.S. military has confirmed and, in website, information published by the British newspaper "The Guardian" , which revealed the existence of this computer system.
According to some sources, the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) has acquired a computer program that allows one person to manage up to 10 identities without they can "be discovered by sophisticated adversaries."
This consists in the application of the contract requested by the U.S. Air Force. The requirement of that contract, which is dated June 22, adds that the software will allow "10 characters per user, with background, history, details of support and 'ciberpresencias' which are technically, culturally and geographically consistent."
The precedent of Israel
"individual applications will be able to make use of various characters 'online' from the same computer without fear of being discovered by sophisticated adversaries," says such a request, he adds, moreover, the software has the ability to pretend that these false identities originate anywhere in the world, thus making it impossible to trace.
As reported by The Washington Post, sources from Centcom using this software can not be applied in the U.S. or on social networks like Facebook or Twitter, which are U.S. companies.
"The Guardian", for its part, in addition to reporting the existence of such software, also revealed that Israel used for years a program called "Megaphone", who reportedly automates the votes of online survey in order to influence the result in favor of pro-Israeli positions.
Giyus , the group creator of "Megaphone", says on its website that "today's conflicts are won in public opinion. Now is the time to be active and express the world's voice on the Israeli side."
