Broken Capillary In Breat

Mexico, murdered the peasant ecologist Javier Torres Cruz.

murdered PRESS RELEASE the peasant ecologist Javier Torres Cruz in a place near the community of La Morena, the Sierra de Petatlán, Guerrero.

Javier Torres Cruz was a community leader who had fought narco-cacique of the area and their Rogaciano Alva Alvarez groups of gunmen and was a key witness in the murder investigation of human rights defender Digna Ochoa y Placido.

In December 2008 he was detained, kidnapped, tortured and disappeared for 10 days by members of the Mexican Army members from 19 Infantry Battalion, and from that date was under constant threats and intimidation by the military.

Yesterday, Monday April 18, 2011 at 5:30 pm, was assassinated by a group of armed peasant ecologist Javier Torres Cruz, 30 years old, Torres Cruz was killed as he walked by a place known as "Puerto de la Mosca" place near the community of La Morena where Javier lived with his family.
According to information provided by relatives of Javier and some eyewitnesses, a group of gunmen attacked treacherously to Javier who was traveling with his brother Felipe Torres, who was injured in this attack, when passing through the said place, "Puerto de la Mosca" is located and has been designated as the place of operation of a group of assassins in the service of Rogaciano Alva Alvarez who are known as "The Arreola" belonging to the family of that name.
This attack against Javier Torres lies within a series of other attacks, threats and intimidation against him since 2007 when he decided to testify before the Attorney General of the Federal District to identify those responsible for the murder of human rights defender Digna Ochoa y Plácido murdered in 2001, following that statement and his public denunciation rail against the atrocities and violations committed by the narco-cacique Rogaciano Alva Alvarez, and his work as an ecologist in the region, both military and civil armed forces conducted a series of attacks that ended the day yesterday with his death.
Importantly, the period of 10 days remained missing Javier Torres Cross 1 to 10 December 2008, during which he was tortured and threatened with death by soldiers belonging to 19th Infantry Battalion of the Mexican Army who according to him outside Torres "acted for the people of Rogaciano", disappearances and torture that was never investigated by the competent authorities.
Other facts relating to threats against Javier was located in 2009 when at least 6 separate occasions, elements of the army entered the community of La Morena Javier family assaulting and threatening him with death, all these violations and incursions were reported on time, but to date the competent authority has solved a case.
Aggression latest and perhaps the most serious before the murder of Javier, is located 16 February 2010 when again the Mexican Army broke into the nearby community of La Morena opened fire on men and women working in the field at that time, being killed and wounded Adolfo Torres Isa Torres Rosas Rosas (both cousins \u200b\u200bof Javier), arbitrarily and unjustly detaining Anselmo Torres Quiroz (grandfather of Javier) and Huber Vega Correa (family friend) the latter two remain to this day unjustly imprisoned in the prison of Acapulco for alleged crimes against health, to them manufactured by the military in its incursion.
These facts were reported and an investigation is currently open in the military prosecutor in the Av Prev 27ZM/16/2010 to determine responsibility and punish the soldiers who fired from behind a group of unarmed men and women farmers.
In all these facts are two constants, the use of force and violence by armed civilians and military against Javier Torres Cruz and his family, and the ominous complicity of the state and federal authorities investigate and punish those responsible .
The assassination of campesino ecologist Javier Torres Cruz, can not go unpunished for what it represents, for having had the strength, courage and community support to denounce the abuses and atrocities of the narco-cacique Rogaciano Alva Alvarez and have confronted and denounced military abuses are committed in the Sierra de Petatlán for many years.
The Guerrero state government must act immediately to collect the evidence and the evidence needed to arrest, disarm and demobilize the group known as "The Arreola" who act under orders of the chief of the criminal group imprisoned in the maximum security prison the Altiplano.
This assassination will do the knowledge of the Human Rights Commission, National Commission of Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner for UN Human Rights in Mexico and all those civil organizations of human rights defenders continue to demand punishment for those responsible, an end to impunity and end to military abuses in Guerrero and Mexico.
